Ross County Historical Society Conducts 126th Annual Meeting

The 126th Annual Meeting of the Ross County Historical Society was hosted by the Ross County Heritage Center Monday night.

The 2022 William H. & Elizabeth Lynch Nolan Scholarships were presented to Paint Valley High School senior Roman Salomone and Adena High School senior Ruth Beery. Each scholarship is worth $2,500 and will be paid directly to the university of their choice.

The 2022 First Capital History Awards were presented to: Bruce Caplinger- who represented the Neil Johnston Statue Committee for their fund raising efforts to place a statue of the late NBA Hall of Famer and Chillicothe High School graduate outside Hatton Memorial Gym.

Connie Meyer represented the Nathaniel Massie Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for their Ross County Liberty Camp.

Terressa Reep represented Shine On Chillicothe for their 2021 Christmas Tour of Historic Homes

John Huffman represented The Richard Enderlin Camp, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War for the restoration of the General Joshua Sill Monument in Grandview Cemetery. (Pictured below)

The Society’s five new members to the Board of Trustees are Dana Martinko, John Bowling, Terry Cory, Dr. Richard Rooney and Betsy Moore.
