(RCHD Release) – The Ross County Health District is reporting their second positive West Nile Virus Mosquito sample. The pool of mosquitoes were collected on July 28, 2022 at the Don Coppel Athletic Complex (end of Star Drive, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601).
The first group of mosquitoes were collected on July 24, 2022 at the Scioto Trails State Park.
There are no reported human cases as this time.
Follow these three steps to help reduce the risk of mosquito bites:
1. Dump out standing water
2. Dress in long pants and long sleeves whenever possible
3. Defend by using insect repellent
