Second Street Becoming Two-Way

The long-awaited opening of Second Street in Chillicothe for two-way traffic flow, begins today October 21st.

Chillicothe City crews worked overnight, putting the finishing touches on asphalt paving, street lining/markings and signage.

Some of the overnight work was using a technique called “Themoplastic” into the crosswalk painting. This applies tiny glass beads into the paint, which illuminates when vehicle lights shine on it, making it much easier for motorists to see the painting lines, such as in crosswalks.

The new two-way Second Street goes the entire length of the street, although metered parking will only extend between the alley at the Majestic Theatre to the alley next to the Elks Lodge.
