One of the areas most successful and respected high school boys basketball coaches has announced he is resigning from coaching. Logan Elm’s Doug Stiverson says he will step away from the Braves’ coaching ranks after 24 seasons.
While at Logan Elm, Stiverson compiled a record of (373-179), led the Braves to 7 Mid State League titles, 5 District Championships, and took one team to the OHSAA Final Four in the 2008-09 season. The Final Four dream-season was the first for Logan Elm Boys Basketball since 1945.
Stiverson said he wants to spend more time with his family. He plans to stay at Logan Elm as an intervention teacher.
