A Tour of Historic Churches will be held December 4th in Chillicothe. Several churches will be open to the public that night, to include an inside look of the participating churches and their history.

The Ross-Chillicothe Convention and Visitor’s Bureau will sell tickets beginning October 11th. Ticket sales are capped at 200 and will be sold on line and at the Bureau for $10 and $15 at the door of the participating churches.

A Facebook page has been created called “Chillicothe Christmas Church Walk”.

Proceeds less operating expenses will be donated to the Adena Hospital Women’s and Children’s Fund.

Doors open at St. Peter’s at 6:30pm, welcome and instructions begin at 6:45pm on December 4, 2021.

Three walking groups. If the average time spent in each church is 20 minutes, the earliest estimated completion time of the walk is 9:45pm.

The churches visited during the Chillicothe Christmas Church Walk are:

*St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church; 118 Church Street Chillicothe

*Walnut Street United Methodist Church, 16 South Walnut Street Chillicothe

*First Baptist Church, 65 West Fourth Street Chillicothe

*First Wesleyan Church, 89 South Mulberry Street Chillicothe

*St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 61 South Paint Street, Chillicothe

The order of visitation varies by the group one is assigned to but everyone begins the walk at St. Peter’s and finishes at St. Mary’s. All of the people in a group are assigned group leaders and will arrive and leave each church at the same time.

This is an outdoor walk and will be held in all but the most severe weather so come dressed for the elements and bring a flashlight. Log on to Litter Media for cancelation details.

Tickets are sold online on the Chillicothe Visitor’s Bureau’s website, visitchillicotheohio.com.
