Tourism To Be Topic of Virtual Business Lunch

(Southern Ohio) – The Workforce & Business Development Program (W&B) at the Community Action Committee of Pike County (CAC) is continuing the recently launched webinar series, BUSINESS POWER HOUR: Virtual Lunch & Learn Sessions with next event to take place on Wednesday, March 27th, from 11am to 12pm. The topic of the session will be How Tourism Can Impact Your Business and the Economy. The expert speakers for this session will be Melody Young, Executive Director of the Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors’ Bureau and Chandler Grooms, Tourism Development Director of the Pike County Chamber & Tourism.

Based on TourismOhio’s 2022 results, $53 billion dollars was spent in the state of Ohio throughout the year based on tourism and created 424 thousand jobs, also. With the local attractions in the area, Pike County and surrounding counties are in the heart of south-central Ohio’s tourism path.

“Our region boasts a wealth of Appalachian and indigenous heritage and culture, representing an opportunity for the development of tourism as an economically beneficial resource that remains largely untapped,” said Lisa Pfeifer, Workforce & Business Development Director at CAC. “Chandler and Melody are excited to share information that can help make an impact on businesses and economy of our area by utilizing into the tourism industry.”
