(Chillicothe) – What better way to celebrate the Fall weather than to decorate downtown with SCARECROWS?! The Chamber of Commerce is coordinating the downtown Scarecrow Contest for all to enjoy. Anyone can take part in the contest; you need not be located in the downtown to participate, but the scarecrows will be displayed within the downtown area.
Four categories will be represented: Business, Club, Non-profit, and Individual. Cash prizes will be awarded. No political signage is permitted. No offensive or excessive (gory) themes please. Any scarecrow deemed distasteful will not be disqualified and removed from viewing.
Scarecrows may be placed INDOORS if the location allows. The scarecrow MUST be visible from outdoors.
The cost is $10 per display and may be paid online or at the Chamber office. ONLINE registration can be found atSCARECROW REGISTRATION
Registration is NOW OPEN and will continue through Friday, September 29. Photos must be submitted to the Chamber to be posted by Sunday, October 1st. Please submit photos of your actual scarecrow at its location (no Pinterest inspiration pictures)
Scarecrow voting will begin October 1st, the winners will be announced on Friday, October 27th.
