Five area American Legion teams will battle in the Ohio Region V Tournament at VA Memorial Stadium beginning Monday.
Three games are set for Monday starting at 9:30am with third seeded Waverly 142 facing fourth seeded Hillsboro 129. The winner plays top seeded Chillicothe 757 at 2:30pm. The second game of the day features second seeded Portsmouth 23 and Yeager 199 at 12pm.
Post 757 and Portsmouth shared the regular season SCOL Championship this summer.
Play continues with games Tuesday at 10am, 1pm and 4pm. The loser’s bracket final is at 2pm Wednesday with the winner playing victor of the winner’s bracket at 5pm. If necessary the teams would play again Thursday at 12pm for the championship if a champion is not declared in the nightcap Wednesday.
