The 10th Annual Jim Jadwin Memorial Baseball Tournament opens Friday and runs through Sunday at three different baseball fields in the Chillicothe area.

Games will be played at V.A. Memorial Stadium, Chillicothe Post 757 Hoffman Field, and Ross Country Ball Park.

The “late” Jim Jadwin was a long-time coach and supporter of youth and American Legion Baseball in the area. He himself played professional baseball, advancing to the AAA level before retiring from the sport.

The Chillicothe Post 757 Colts serve as the team host for the weekend tournament, featuring mostly American Legion teams from around Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky.

Post 757 is scheduled to play Waverly Post 142 and Yeager-Benson Post 199 on Friday and then finish up pool play on Saturday against Meigs County Post 39 and the Central Ohio Knights American Legion team.

Other teams playing in the weekend tournament are: Hillsboro Post 129, Portsmouth Post 23, Adrian, Michigan Post 275, and Ashland, Ky Post 76.

Zanesville Post 29 had to withdraw from the tournament, leaving 9 teams total that are still playing.

The top 4 teams advance to championship play on Sunday.
