Miami Trace Hosts Soccer Event Tribute To “Late” Assistant Coach Sean Sweeney

Presented By Classic Brands

A full evening of soccer is planned at Miami Trace High School June 27th as a tribute to the “late” Sean Sweeney, former assistant boys soccer coach, who passed away last April. Proceeds raised at the 4pm-9pm event go to Sean’s family.

Spectators attending at the Tony’s Welding and Fabrication Stadium can enter from either entrance to the field and will be charged a $5 entry fee.

The Miami Trace Girls Soccer Team Facebook page says- “Because of the way the event will run, we need players to be ready to get on and off the field quickly so that we have time for all of our events. To keep things moving, please stick around your team’s assigned “captain” so that each game can get started and end on time.”

These assigned “captains” are:
Miami Trace Current Boys: Noah Perry
Miami Trace Boys Alumni: Kyler Conn, Kody Burns, and August Langley
Southern State Community College/Coaches: Tim Cook
Miami Trace Girls: Morgan Eggleton

The tentative schedule for the games is as follows:
4:15-4:50 – Big Cats Soccer Club
4:55-5:30 – Miami Trace Boys Alumni vs. Southern State/Coaches
5:35-6:10 – Miami Trace Current Boys vs. Miami Trace Girls
6:15-6:50 – Southern State/Coaches vs. Miami Trace Current Boys
6:55-7:30 – Miami Trace Girls vs. Miami Trace Boys Alumni
7:35-8:10 – Southern State/Coaches vs. Miami Trace Girls
8:15-8:50 – Miami Trace Current Boys vs. Miami Trace Boys Alumni

Games will consist of two 15 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime to get water and cool down a bit from the hot summer weather.
