OHSAA Track & Field Championship Updates

22 area athletes scored points with top 8 finishes at the OHSAA State Track & Field Championships over the weekend.

Division 1 was held at Hilliard Darby, Division 2 was at Pickerington North and Westerville North hosted Division 3.

No area athletes had top 8 finishes in Division 1, but a dozen did in both Divisions 2 and 3.

(Division 2 Girls)
Maddie Gill of Wheelersburg was 4th in the Girls High Jump and Haidyn Wamsley 5th. Wamsley was 7th in the Long Jump and 5th in the High Hurdles and Lauren Jolly of Wheelersburg was 7th in the High Hurdles.

Tayla Tootle of Logan Elm was 7th in the Pole Vault and Westfall’s Peyton Proffitt was 8th.

Kerigan Pollard of McClain was 7th in the 300 Hurdles.

(Boys Division 2)
Northwest 4×800 Relay was second, Landen Smith of Northwest was second in 1600 Run, Josh Shope of Northwest was 4th in the 800 Run.

Marcus Whaley of Westfall placed 4th in the 300 Hurdles.

In the 3200 Run, Colton Pinkerton of Circleville was 3rd and Corey Schobelock of Unioto 4th.

(Girls Division 3)
Makaela Lovely of Adena was 7th in the high jump, Sierra Kendall of North Adams was 3rd in the Long Jump and 8th in 300 Hurdles.

Marie Souther of Zane Trace was 4th in the 800 Run.

(Division 3 Boys)
Adena’s Tate Myers finished 3rd in the 400 Dash, Eric Hurtt of Adena was 6th in the Discus.

In the Shot Put, Lucasville Valley’s Ryan Benjamin was 6th and Justin Moore 8th.
