Day 1 Sees 4 SVC Athletes Medal at OHSAA Track & Field Championships

The 2022 Ohio High School Athletic Association Track & Field Championships got underway Friday at The Ohio State University’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Divisions 1, 2 & 3 will be participating through Saturday, June 4th.

Dozens of area athletes are competing for state championships, with several participants from our coverage area that rank in the top 10 in Ohio. On Friday, the first two SVC athletes to medal were Adena’s Sydney Foglesong and Makaela Lovely.

Foglesong placed third in the Division 3 Girls Discus with a toss of 130 feet- 3 inches.

Lovely placed fourth in the Girls High Jump at 5’2. Originally, OHSAA reported there was a three-way tie for fourth, but later changed that so Lovely placed fourth- outright.

Paint Valley’s Cole Miller also medaled with a third place finish in the Boys Long Jump at 21 feet- 9 inches.
