Chillicothe has evened its second half mark at 8-8 by taking their fourth consecutive win with a 10-0 decision over Danville Saturday at VA Memorial Stadium.
The Paints carried a 2-0 lead into the home 7th inning and erupted for 8 runs in the frame to seal the victory.
After two walks to opening the 7th, Chillicothe got a two run single by Alex Ludwick to expand the Paints’ lead to 4-0 . Kent Resser reached on an error while two more Paints crossed the plate. Ben Gbur drove in Ludwick and Reeser to go up 6-0. Jackson Feltner worked a walk to load the bases. Colin Summerhill cleared the bases with a double tallying three more runs. Summerhill would eventually score no a wild pitch spelling defeat for the Dans.
Chillicothe’s Justin Diefenbach limited Danville to three hits to earn the win. Diefenbach is 2-4 on the season.
The win keeps Chillicothe within 1.5 games of divisional leader Johnstown.
Chillicothe wraps up its 5-game home stand with a Sunday afternoon battle with Danville. Gates open at 5:05pm with the first pitch at 6:05pm for Kid’s Day. Kids 12 and under are admitted to the game for free.
