Article Presented By Tomlinson Insurance…

(Chillicothe) – The City of Chillicothe has announced the planned grand opening of “Patrick Park,” a new neighborhood park located at 27 Wade Street in the Sixth Ward. The public is invited to attend the grand opening event Thursday, October 19th, 2023, from 4:30pm-6:30pm.

This project was made possible by the property donation of former City Councilwoman, Patricia Patrick and her family. The property was cleared and greened with a grant secured by Ross County Land Bank to prepare for the development and creation of the park. Additional partnerships and support through grant funding were provided by the Ross County Health District’s Creating Healthy Communities program as well as AARP’s Community Challenge program.

The “Patrick Park” playground design was chosen by the community with votes coming from Chillicothe Pre-K and Primary Schools, YMCA Latchkey, Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library’s Bookworm groups, and an ice cream social voting event held at the park’s location in the Spring of 2023.

The Chillicothe Trolley will be running a special route to assist with transportation throughout the Sixth Ward. For additional information, please contact planning@chillicotheoh.gov or visit ChillicotheOH.gov.
