(Chillicothe) – Ross County Auditor Jeff Lehner has invited Ross County property owners who wish to dispute their property valuations to apply for 2024 Board of Revision hearings.

“Board of Revision hearings are the means by which propertyowners in Ohio are able to challenge the County’s valuations for tax purposes,” Lehner said.  “There’s a lot about an individual property that our appraisers can’t possibly know due to circumstances unique to that property, and these hearings are our opportunity to hear directly from taxpayers if adjustments are needed. I want every Ross County taxpayer to be aware of this opportunity to ensure that we’re doing our best work on their behalf.”

State law provides that applications for Board of Revision hearings be filed with county auditors on or before March 31.  Once that deadline has been reached, the Auditor’s office will review applications to set hearing dates for June and July.

“Same gameplan as last year,” Lehner said.  “Everyone who wants a hearing gets one and we’ll work with applicants to set good dates. Nobody gets left out due to scheduling conflicts because we’ll work around them and reschedule if need be.”
