(Chillicothe) – The public is invited to celebrate the German Heritage of Chillicothe and Ross County at “German Heritage Day at the Ross County Historical Society.”
The event will take place Friday, September 15th, from 11am-7pm on the grounds of the Ross County Heritage Center located at 45 West Fifth Street in Chillicothe and will feature traditional German food prepared by the world-famous Schmidt’s restaurant located in German Village in Columbus. Schmidt’s Sausage Truck will be serving many of the most popular items on the Schmidt’s menu, all available without the long drive to Columbus.
There will also be a special exhibit on local German culture inside the Heritage Center. The event is a social gathering free and open to the public and will take place rain or shine. Food will be available for purchase throughout the day and evening while supplies last. A large tent with tables and chairs will provide a pleasant setting for outside dining no matter what the weather brings. Please plan to attend this fun late summer event and bring your friends and neighbors with you. Enjoy live music by The Goosetown Astonishers from 5-7pm.
