The Ross Soil & Water Conservation District is conducting their annual Spring Tree and Fish sales.
Fish sold are intended for stocking ponds and lakes include. This year’s sale includes: Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Catfish, Sunfish, Fathead Minnows, Japanese Koi, and White Amur- among others. Some price increases are in store and there is no sale of perch available for this season.
The tree sale offering is a bundle of 25 Eastern White Pine Seedlings.
Ohio’s state nurseries closed some years ago. Since then, Ross SWCD had purchased from West Virginia’s state nursery, but that too closed down last year and there were no commercial suppliers that could deliver in time for spring planting. Ross SWCD was able to acquire she Eastern White Pine seedlings.
The last day for placing an order for trees is April 4th and for fish- April 25th.
Upon order arrivals, trees can be picked up between 7am-6pm Friday April 8th at the Ross County Service Center.
Fish orders will be picked up between 9am-10am Tuesday May 3rd at the Ross County Fairgrounds.
