(Hillsboro) – Hundreds of people gathered recently at Southern State Community College in Hillsboro on for the 2024 5-County Transition Expo hosted by Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Region 14 State Support Team, and other partners.
More than 200 students attended the expo from 16 school districts in Adams, Brown, Highland, Clinton, and Fayette counties.
Dozens of employers participated in the event, including Employer Partners: the University of Cincinnati Clermont, Nestle Purina, Fifth Third Bank, GE Aerospace, Great Wolf Lodge, Kroger, Highland District Hospital, Nippon Seiki Ohio / New Sabina Industries, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Air Transport International.
Community resource partners and OOD staff were also on hand to provide students with information and experiences that would prepare them for employment or secondary education after high school.
