SVC Football Coaching Changes Continue As Heath Hinton Resigns at Zane Trace

Article Presented By Advanced Services…

The third football coaching position in the Scioto Valley Conference has been made known with the announced resignation of Zane Trace Head Coach Heath Hinton. Hinton leaves the Pioneers program after three seasons and a record of (23-10), with last season being a (10-0) regular season and Gold Football for a perfect conference record and a second round playoff berth.

Coach Hinton communicated with Litter Media’s Dan Ramey about the decision to step down, and relayed this quote to the Pioneer Nation: “I have enjoyed my three seasons at Zane Trace high school leading the football program.  Thank you to my wife and children for encouraging and supporting me as a head coach. The Zane Trace administration, teachers, coaches, players and community have been tremendous.  I cherish my time I spent with players both on and off the football field.  Those memories with players will outlast any of the success we have had on the field. I was fortunate to have such a great staff of loyal coaches that put a tremendous amount of effort in building up the Zane Trace football program to what it is today.  Thank you and go Pioneers!!”

Heath Hinton has been head coach at two other area schools, leading the Wellston Rockets, where he was Ohio Coach of the Year, then later at Circleville High School.

Hinton added to Litter Media that “At this time, there is no next (coaching) job.”

This becomes the third SVC football program that will either be looking or has hired a new coach to fill a vacant position.

Earlier this week, Clay Beeler was hired as the new Huntington Huntsmen football coach after Ed Yates stepped down, while Adena High School opened their position to new applicants, while allowing current coach Shane Wellman to also apply. No decision has been yet on the Adena position and Zane Trace Athletic Director Trevor Thomas communicated to Litter Media’s Mike Smith that they only recently learned of Coach Hinton’s decision and have no current candidates in mind.
