Westfall’s Party With A Purpose To Honor Long-Time Educator

(Pherson) – Join the Westfall community for an evening of fun with food, live auctions, and prize games. A good time for a good cause, and you can help create opportunities for students at Westfall.

Help celebrate honored guest, Mark Schaffnit, for all his contributions to Westfall Schools on Saturday, February 24, 2024 beginning at 5pm.

Mark Schaffnit dedicated 32 years of his career to teaching at Westfall, with a significant part of that time spent leading as the band director. A graduate of Capital University, Mark has been a prominent figure in the Columbus area as a professional percussionist since 1971. He commenced his teaching journey at Westfall in 1987. Throughout his tenure, he was a familiar presence at over 600 football and basketball games and played a pivotal role in organizing 15 memorable band trips to Disney World. Currently, Mark continues to inspire through music as the Director of Music at Liberty Presbyterian Church. Known for his profound impact, Mr. Schaffnit has not only imparted musical knowledge but also invaluable life lessons to countless students.

With the proceeds from this event, the Westfall Education Foundation provides resources and grant monies for students and teachers in our district. In addition, we provide several service scholarships to students in the district annually.
