Joyce Atwood Honored By OU-Chillicothe

One of the most respected educators in Chillicothe & Ross County has been honored by Ohio University Chillicothe as a “Woman Of Distinction”.

Joyce Atwood received the award at OU-Chillicothe’s “Celebrate Women” 2021 Conference held March 19th.

Atwood was heralded in several areas, which included:

Distinguished Alumna of Ohio Chillicothe

43 years in education as a teacher, principal and superintendent

Director of Development and Alumni Relations

Organizer of events, Celebrating Women

Inductee of the Ross County Hall of Fame

1st Woman inducted into Kiwanis Club in 1988

Active AAUW member

Philanthropic Excellence

Before taking her education leadership to Ohio Chillicothe, Atwood spent decades in the Chillicothe City School system.
