Paint Valley ADAMH Provides Crisis Intervention Training To Area Law Enforcement

Presented By Hometown-Motors, Inc.

The Paint Valley ADAMH Board has recently trained 10 law enforcement personnel in the region covered by the board, in Crisis Intervention Team Training.

The weeklong training was designed to react appropriately in situations involving someone with mental illness or a developmental disability.

Penny Dehner, Executive Director of the Paint Valley ADAMH Board, said- “It is very important to assure that we have trained officers in our board region, not only for the safety of our officers, but also for our communities.”

The CIT Training is comprised of mental health providers from Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health Center, law enforcement officers and Veterans Administration professionals that worked together to develop a local CIT training. This training is funded through the Paint Valley ADAMH Board and facilitated by Dr. James Hagen.

The 10 local officers represented law enforcement agencies from V.A.- Chillicothe, Chillicothe Police Department, Pickaway County Sheriff, Highland County Sheriff, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Adena Health System.
