Article Presented By Kingston National Bank…
The Zane Trace (13-9) Pioneers met the North Adams (18-4) Devils on Saturday night in Piketon for D3 Boys Sectional Basketball.
The game had a strange start, and there was no tip off, as North Adams began the game by committing a technical foul, which Zane Trace was able to take advantage of for one point. The Devils quickly scored 8 points of their own to gain the lead before the Pioneers scored again to make it 8-3. From there North Adams simply added to their lead, to bring it to 22-10 at the end of the first.
The second quarter went scoreless for the first 2 minutes before ZT made a foul shot. North Adams retaliated by scoring 14 points of their own without letting ZT make a point until there was a minute and a half left in the second quarter. Going into halftime it was a score of 41-14 in favor of the Devils.
The Pioneers came back to play in the third quarter, quickly bringing the score to 48-28 to bridge the gap between the two teams. North Adams maintained this 20 point lead until the end of the quarter, where the score was 57-36.
The final score of the ballgame was 73-55 North Adams, and they will move on to play the winner of Chesapeake vs Ironton on March 3rd at the Convo.
Carson Osborne led North Adams in scoring with 20 points, while Landon Robinson led Zane Trace with 22 points.
